The Ottawa Islamic School is a non-profit organization based in Ottawa, Ontario. OIS was founded by members of the Ottawa Muslim Community.
It is the first Islamic school in Canada’s capital and currently caters for students from JK to grade 12. Though the school has had humble beginnings, it now serves to provide education to Muslim youth in the 21st century; it serves all Muslim communities. The Ottawa Islamic School offers the ability for students to learn and earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma in a Muslim environment, around other Muslims.
The Muslim identity is of paramount importance. Creating a strong identity based on the tenets of Islam requires a special and specific type of education. The challenges are numerous; however, it is always possible to offer the best of both worlds—providing an excellent Islamic education together with the Ontario academic curriculum. It is proven that when students feel connected to their learning environment, they thrive and flourish.
At the Ottawa Islamic school students thrive and grow at ease and comfort, and continue to post secondary education with confidence. There is great emphasis on the value of education and lifelong learning. At the Islamic school, emphasis is on the whole child as they learn the values of respect, responsibility and social connections.
We are seeking to secure a promotional and marketing opportunity to make our Annual Fundraising Dinner a success, and expand our School, Center & Masjid. We want to build 7 classrooms, science lab, library and gym. We want to have the biggest center for our community youth.

In 1987, Muslim community Leaders in Ottawa had a dream to develop an Islamic School for the Muslim Children in the greater Ottawa/Carleton region Ontario, Canada.
Ottawa Islamic School is 100% non-profit (Waqf Lillah)
Ottawa Islamic School is a combination of 4 Schools (Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior, and a High School) and a Friday prayer Musalla.
The school developed Islamic Studies Grade 9 & 12 courses, and succeeded to get approval from the Ontario Ministry of Education {HRE13 & HRE34}
Students are taught the complete Ontario curriculum and receive Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Holy Qur’an memorizing.

Ottawa Islamic School is a true inclusive and welcoming environment for all Muslims with students, and staff from all over the Muslim World.
Ottawa Islamic School is the only Islamic High School in North America with complete gender-separated classes (Boys and Girls) from Grade 9 to 12.
Islamic Relief works with communities to strengthen their resilience to calamities, and we provide vital emergency aid when disasters occur.
We help the impoverished access basic services, including education, water and sanitation, as well as healthcare. We provide lasting routes out of poverty through our sustainable development schemes. Our integrated approach to progress is transforming communities worldwide.
We tackle the root causes of poverty and make sure that the world’s most vulnerable people have real influence in both our programs and advocacy.

In line with Islamic teachings on the value of every human life, we provide assistance to whoever needs it most, regardless of race, religion or gender. We work to transform and save lives of people in crisis both Canada and across the world.
