Fulfilling an Obligation: In Islam, giving to charity is considered an act of worship and a religious obligation. Donating to a masjid is a way to fulfill this obligation and earn blessings from Allah.

Investing in the Hereafter: Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)This hadith highlights the great reward and blessings that come with building a mosque for the sake of Allah. It is a reminder for Muslims to actively participate in supporting the construction and maintenance of mosques, as it is a means of gaining closeness to Allah and earning rewards in the hereafter.
How will my donations be used?
Rent for the masjid building (approx. $13,000 per month)
Utilities such as electricity and water
Salaries for the imam
Repairs and maintenance of the building and its facilities, including the prayer hall, bathrooms, and wudu areas
Cleaning and janitorial services
Purchase and maintenance of prayer mats, rugs, and other equipment
Supplies for religious activities and events, such as copies of the Quran, prayer books, and other materials
Community outreach and education programs, such as classes, workshops, and seminars
Ramadan expenses
Fundraising expenses for the masjid’s operational and capital campaigns.

Ajyal Islamic Society, located in downtown Vancouver, Canada, is a masjid and a community centre that provides a number of educational, recreational and cultural exchange programs and religious classes to its members and the community.

Ajyal is a Learning Center for members of the Islamic Faith residing in Downtown Vancouver.
Islamic Relief works with communities to strengthen their resilience to calamities, and we provide vital emergency aid when disasters occur.
We help the impoverished access basic services, including education, water and sanitation, as well as healthcare. We provide lasting routes out of poverty through our sustainable development schemes. Our integrated approach to progress is transforming communities worldwide.
We tackle the root causes of poverty and make sure that the world’s most vulnerable people have real influence in both our programs and advocacy.
Our key values, of compassion, justice, custodianship, sincerity and excellence – a critical part of our Islamic faith - inspire us each and every day to create positive change and remember the sanctity of life.
In line with Islamic teachings on the value of every human life, we provide assistance to whoever needs it most, regardless of race, religion or gender. We work to transform and save lives of people in crisis both Canada and across the world.
